Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of lights are these?

These are Enlux R30 custom LED floodlights.

What are the wavelengths of these bulbs?

The blue light peaks at 415nm. view curve
The red light peaks at 619nm. (effectiveness guaranteed.)

How intense are these bulbs?

We do not yet have the physical measurments of intensity that many people are using to compare the products out there, such as watts/cm2, joules/cm2 and lumens. We will have these measurements taken by an independent lab in the near future. In the meantime, consider this: the treatment distance for most other in-home "acne lights" is 6 inches from the light. The effective treatment distance for these lights is up to 36 inches from the light. That is the only statement we can make as to their power at this time.

How many LEDs are in these bulbs?

There are approximately 40-46 leds on the chip. For a detailed explaination of LED chip technology, please click here.

How does the light work to help clear up acne?

Blue Light:
P. acnes, the bacterial responsible for causing acne inflammation, pumps out tiny molecules called porphyrins. When those porphyrin are exposed to certain wavelengths of light (blue), they produce free radicals that kill the bacteria that causes inflammatory acne.
Red Light:
Red light has an anti-inflammatory and healing effect on the skin. In fact, research done by David Olszewski, co- author of the book "Light Years Ahead" has shown that skin heals almost 200% faster when exposed to red light.

Extended Treatments

After the acne is cleared, decrease your treatments to 15 minutes with blue light every three days.
